Who is Brian Dalley?
Hi there, my name is Brian Dalley, and I have been involved in the real estate industry since 1992.
A former company general manager I started out as the mortgage broker industry was in its infancy. When I started out, I sat my real estate licence to get a better idea of how the industry worked. Then I read many books, attended seminars and numerous training programs, which I continue to do, so I am always aware of new ideas and developments.
For many years I was an independent mortgage broker, but as products offered by lenders didn’t differ a great deal at the time I sold CMB (Citiwide Mortgage Brokers ) and joined The National Bank as a mobile mortgage manager. Back in 2006, the industry changed, lending criteria from different institutions became light years apart. Due to the change, I again work as an independent advisor which allows me to find the best deal for my clients needs.
During my time at the helm of CMB, I set up a property investment company. I would buy tired properties, tidy them up, on sell some and put some into my rental company, which has inspired other people to do the same.
There are preachers and teachers in the industry, Preachers tell you what to do but they have never done it themselves. Teachers, like myself, will tell you what they are doing or what they have already done and the pitfalls to watch out for.
